History:
Punjab Kings, formerly known as Kings XI Punjab, is a franchise team that has been a part of the Indian Premier League since its inception in 2008. The name change occurred in 2020 as the owners sought a fresh start for the franchise. The team has had a mixed performance history, with some seasons seeing them reach the playoffs while others struggled to make an impact. Despite this, the owners have been committed to the team, reflected in their co-ownership structure.
