History:
The Rajasthan Royals have been a significant contender from the league’s establishment in the Indian Premier League. Manoj Badale owns the team and is captained by Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson. - Yusuf Pathan: Yusuf Pathan, the hard-hitting Indian all-rounder, had a successful stint with the Rajasthan Royals from 2011-2013. He was instrumental in the team’s title-winning campaign in 2008, where he scored 435 runs and took 8 wickets.
- Graeme Smith: Graeme Smith, the former South African captain, was also part of the Rajasthan Royals team in 2013, scoring 270 runs in 12 matches.
- Rahul Dravid: the former Indian captain, was not only a great cricketer but also a mentor to many young players in the Rajasthan Royals team. He played for the team from 2011-2013 and was crucial in leading the squad to the playoffs in 2013.
- Jos Buttler: Jos Buttler, the English wicketkeeper-batsman, has been a vital cog in the Royals’ batting lineup since joining the team in 2018. He has scored over 1500 runs for the team and has been one of the team’s most consistent performers.
- Ben Stokes: the English all-rounder, is another notable player representing the Rajasthan Royals. The team bought him for a whopping 12.5 crores in the 2018 IPL auction, and he has been a crucial component of their batting and bowling departments. Achievements
Rajasthan Royals have not won any IPL titles since their triumph in the inaugural season. In his first season, Sanju Samson made a name for himself with several brutal hits for the Rajasthan Royals. Rahul Dravid developed the Keralan wicketkeeper-batsman into a tenacious campaigner. He joined the Delhi Daredevils (now the Delhi Capitals) team in 2016, and throughout his two seasons there, he contributed some significant innings, then went back to the Rajasthan Royals. In the IPL 2019, Sanju scored 342 runs, while in the IPL 2020, he scored 375 runs. In the 2021 season, he received the captain’s hat. Samson took the initiative early on and finished with 484 runs from 14 innings to lead RR in scoring. He maintained his strong play in the 2022 competition and assisted the Rajasthan Royals in reaching the championship by scoring 458 runs at a 28.62 average (third-highest run-getter for RR). Devdutt Padikkal, who represents Karnataka in domestic cricket, was born in Edapal, Kerala. Padikkal, a system product, has advanced through the ranks; after playing for India Under-19, he was shortly called up to the Karnataka Ranji Trophy team. On his Ranji Trophy debut against Maharashtra in November 2018, he scored 77 strokes. It was a game-changer when Royal Challengers Bangalore paid Rs. Padikkal received lakhs at the player auction before the 2019 IPL. He scored 473 runs in his rookie season of 2020, including five fifty-scores, and 411 runs the following year, including a century and a fifty. During the Windies’ limited-overs tour of India in 2018, Shimron Hetmyer won over the Indian audience with his six-hitting prowess. The left-handed hitter, who competed for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL 2019 season, was acquired by Delhi Capitals for Rs. 7.75 crores. The Guyana-born hitter Hetmyer participated twice for the Windies in the Under-19 competition in 2014 and 2016. In the 2016 competition, he led his team to win over an aggressive Indian team. Hetmyer got 242 runs from 144 balls in 14 games in the IPL 2020 despite having little success with the bat. Before the 15th season, Hetmyer, who cost a staggering Rs. 8.5 crore, scored 314 runs at an average of 44.86 and an SR of 153.92 in a year in which RR made the final. This season, Hetmyer will be a crucial piece again, and expectations for him will be very high.

Yashasvi Jaiswal was just 17 years old when she was purchased by the Rajasthan Royals for Rs. 2.40 crore before the IPL 2020. Yashasvi’s retention before the 15th season was done so with that goal in mind, which was given that RR saw him as a long-term possibility. Being only one of the three guys said a lot about his abilities. Yashasvi scored 249 runs in 10 games from 168 balls during the 2021 season, displaying a respectable strike rate. The right-handed batsman, who debuted in the IPL in 2019, now holds the record for being the youngest Player to reach fifty runs in the league. RR has a lot of confidence in his skills. He can hit the ball far, be a finisher, and add some helpful spins. At the massive auction held before the 15th edition, RR paid a staggering Rs. 3.8 crore to purchase him back. After representing the Chennai Super Kings in 2013, the Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2015, Kolkata Knight Riders in 2016, Holder were back in the 2020 and 2021 seasons with the Sunrisers Hyderabad. Holder sparked a bidding war at the 2022 IPL auction, where the Lucknow Super Giants bought him for Rs. 8.75 crores. He picked up 14 wickets from 12 matches in IPL 2022. RR and CSK were locked in a bidding war to get the services of Holder in the IPL 2023 auction before the hammer came down in favor of RR at Rs. 5.75 crores. Prasidh Krishna, also known as “Skiddy,” will be hitting the deck for the Rajasthan Royals. Even on calm surfaces, the young Karnataka right-arm fast can consistently bowl above 140 mph, and his tall frame adds extra bounce. Prasidh, who began his career as a net bowler for RCB, made his IPL debut in 2018 when he was selected to replace Kamlesh Nagarkoti at Kolkata Knight Riders. In just 7 games, he picked up 10 wickets, seizing the chance with both hands.
He was acquired by the Rajasthan Royals in 2022 for a record sum after spending four seasons with KKR. Prasidh and Trent Boult became one of the season’s most lethal new-ball pairings, as Prasidh frequently employed his length-ball variations to worry the batters. With 19 wickets, the second-most of any Rajasthan Royals bowler, and 3 maidens tied for the joint-most in the competition, he concluded a successful season for the team and himself. One of the top professionals in the field is Trent Boult. He is knowledgeable and has been a vital member of the New Zealand team for many years. For Sunrisers Hyderabad, the left-arm bowler debuted in the 2015 IPL. He had a breakthrough year in 2018, appearing in 14 games for the Delhi Capitals and taking 18 wickets. In the 13th edition, Boult was genuinely exceptional when sharing the ball with Jasprit Bumrah. He was a fantastic addition to MI’s team for the 2020 season.
He played a significant part in MI’s championship victory and collected 25 wickets from 15 games. After spending two years with MI, Boult switched to RR, who paid a hefty 8 crore rupees at the IPL 2022 auction to get the services of the Kiwi bowler. Boult was the third-most costly acquisition for RR after Prasidh Krishna and Shimron Hetmyer. From 16 games in the IPL 2022, he took 16 wickets. Before the 2023 auction, RR kept him on staff. Boult has made some of the most incredible catches and is a fantastic fielder. He’ll once again play a significant role in the RR pace lineup.

Murugan Ashwin first gained attention after he triggered a bidding war at the 2016 IPL auction, where Rising Pune Supergiants acquired him for Rs. 4.5 crore from a base price of Rs. 10 lakhs. He performed admirably in the 2015–16 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, finishing as Tamil Nadu’s second-highest wicket-taker with 10 dismissals from six games at an outstanding average of 12.70 and an economy rate of 5.52. That performance was, in fact, one of the factors that enabled Ashwin to secure an IPL deal.
He has since represented other teams, including the Mumbai Indians, Punjab Kings, and Delhi Daredevils. At the IPL auction for 2023, Rajasthan Royals paid his base price of Rs. 20 lakhs to acquire him. The aggressive 32-year-old leg-spinner has various variations in his toolbox, including a deadly googly. Being a regular performer on the domestic scene, he also brings a wealth of expertise to the table. He’ll make the RR spin assault more complex.

Yuzvendra Chahal gained notoriety when, in 2009, he finished the competition as the National Under-19 Cooch Behar Trophy’s best wicket-taker with 34 wickets. He joined the Mumbai Indians team in 2011 and remained there throughout the Champions League T20, where he attracted attention in the championship game. In 2014, RCB acquired Chahal. When offered the chance to play against England in the T20Is, Yuzvendra seized it to the utmost after making his debut for Team India during their 2016 tour of Zimbabwe.
He has since made a name for himself as one of the top spinners on the world stage. He combines fly, dip, spin, and cunning to devastating effect. Chahal moved to RR after spending seven seasons with RCB after being purchased for Rs. 6.50 crore in the 2022 IPL auction. The following year, in the 15th edition, he took 27 wickets from 17 games.
